Yiyun Zhang

Biography
Yiyun Zhang is director of materials engineering at Footprint. She joined Footprint in 2015 as an experienced materials scientist. Yiyun has 25 SCI publications and 29 patents. She graduated from University of Illinois with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with research focus on functional nano fiber. She has a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Southeast University(China).
Yiyun started working in molded pulp industry right after graduation, and over the next nine years, she successfully helped launch many projects to replace customers’ current plastic packaging with environmentally-friendly plant-based fiber solutions.
